Over 7,000 people were helped during the pandemic
In 2020, the Angels of Hope Foundation, a non-governmental organisation, hosted Covid-19 sensitisation programs in four states in the north, namely Kano, Kaduna, Kebbi, and Abuja. The foundation trained over 7000 people on the importance of protecting themselves from Covid-19 and the precautions to take to avoid contracting the virus.
The sensitization program was aimed at raising awareness and helping the people of these states understand the importance of protecting themselves and those around them from Covid-19. The program was implemented in two phases. The first phase of the program was conducted in Kano, Kaduna, Kebbi, and Abuja. During this phase, the foundation trained and educated over 7000 people on the importance of following Covid-19 safety protocols.
The second phase of the program was to supply the beneficiaries with materials that could help them protect themselves and those around them from Covid-19. The foundation distributed facemasks, handwash, sanitary pads, and food to the orphans, widows, old people, and even the youths in the region.
The Covid-19 sensitisation program hosted by the Angels of Hope Foundation was a success and has been applauded by many. The program not only educated over 7000 people on the importance of protecting themselves from Covid-19, but also provided them with materials that would help them stay safe. The foundation’s effort to ensure the safety of the people in the region has been greatly appreciated and has no doubt helped to curb the spread of the virus in the north.
