Harmony Fair Trade exhibition
The Angels of Hope Foundation (AHF) at the weekend held an epoch charity event comprised of “Harmony Fair, Trade Exhibition and Fun Fair” It was an all-day event and the first of its kind in the city of Kano. The event aimed to create a culture of helping the less fortunate and also showcased the Talents of various Entrepreneurs across diverse range of industries in Nigeria.
The Harmony fair hosts lots of celebrities both from music and film industries, upcoming artists, friends and well-wishers across Nigeria. There was startling entertainment, shopping, munchies and astounding networking amongst the attendees. The occasion clutched different trade exhibitions, talents shows, and funfair for the kids where games, quizzes & lots of competitions held and many astonishing prizes were won.
There were specialty stalls, like those that sold weave products, necklaces & bridal kits, and other stalls that sold leather goods – women bags, shoes & modern apparels. There were others that sold household chemicals – liquid detergents, as well as soap and shampoo. About three to four stalls sold cakes & homemade drinks of various flavour, while over a dozen were stacked high with fabric products of every description. Foods and cloths, toys and creative paintings all were sold beneath the marquees and shades of HTM event centre Kano.
In sequence with the core values of the foundation, the founder, Omar Naveed said all Proceeds from the event will go to charity with special emphasis to supporting the orphans, traumatised women and people with special disabilities, he called on everyone to support the cause and pledged that the Angels of Hope Foundation will continue to sustain the tempo because charity work brings joy to the heart.
A Kannyhood star Hadiza Aliyu, also known as Hadiza Gabon expressed delight over the event, she said “This is the first time of me attending an event like this, I am very happy”, Gabon who is also an Ambassador of the foundation expressed confidence and pledged her unrelenting support for charity.
A stall holder, Mrs. Mariya Ishaka from the Albinism foundation was pleased to be part of the event, according to her “I am extremely happy to be here, especially as people coming around buying our things, appreciating our handmade products is really making me so happy and taking off any stigmatization” when asked about her general take on the funfair, Ishaka said “It is spectacular and entertaining”
Ahmad Nurudeen of Wamball Designs said he was thrilled. “I usually sale my products online; this is the first time I am participating in a trade exhibition”, when asked about his sales, Ahmad said “I have sold few Kaftans & Shoes and hope to sale more because people are still coming around”.
The founder of House of Weaves also a stallholder at the event expressed delight over the turnout and thanked Angels of Hope Foundation for holding such an event, Bahijja Umar grumble resentfully on the general stumpy attitude of the people towards weave products, she call on everyone to embrace the culture and look into the importance of weave products.
Amina Adam Ishaq of E_bonique and Yasmeen Gashash of La-Reenah Treats Kano shared the same sentiment. All expressed delight and described the event a success. Others who remarked hilarity over the event were Aisha Ismail of Fashionable Entities, Mariam Tofa of The Gallery Collections and host of others.
Segment of the Harmony Fair also had Fashion parades that showcased various fabric designs and there was also stage performances by Kaduna based music group Yaran North Side (YNS), Ali Jita, Young-G, and Wiz Abdul anchored by @Aliyurs & MC Dre, while Kano based DJ Saks & MC Powerful handled the Children Funfair section.
The Harmony fair came to an exciting close with dances, photo shootouts by seasoned photographers: Giwan Mata Photography, photo journalist Maikatanga and many others. Also, riddles were tossed to the floor and gifts were awarded to winners’ courtesy Pizza & Gurasa, Bella Bee, E_bonique, Wamball Designs and Mekkyaj_Fandy….
